About Jacob
Hello there, my name is Jacob! I was a mathematics and comp sci student at Colorado State where I completed calculus III, general statistics, and data structures. As a lifelong math nerd, I've also learned a lot of topics on my own! My favorite topic by far is googology. I began tutoring to help my friends and relatives prepare for tests. I've really enjoyed it because it challenges me to share my unique experience and passion in way that hopefully makes the student feel the same way. When you finally pass that mental barrier - when you learn something that's surprisingly cool - that is immensely rewarding!

I aim for my lessons to be accessible to a general audience. I like to keep it casual and light-hearted in my sessions, while still offering plentiful insight and new perspectives. I'm very flexible and am able to design a plan that fulfills the learner's individual goals. It's my personal challenge to teach people math in a way that makes them feel just as fascinated as I am. When you finally pass that mental barrier - when you learn something that's surprisingly cool - that is immensely rewarding!

Jacob is an excellent tutor, he's patient and incredibly flexible in teaching styles. Mathematics has always been one of my most difficult subjects, and he helped me pass my math GED test. I'm a pretty visual learner, and he was always willing to draw and break down any particular math problem I was having trouble with, in as many different ways as it took for me to understand. He's very helpful and very understanding!
