About Jake
Hello, my name is Jake Hannon and I am a first year undergraduate student at the University of St Andrews studying Mathematics and Economics. I come from a family of teachers from my grandma who was a headteacher of a primary school to my mother who is a director of an academic trust, so through many work experience placements I have gained an ability to work with students of all ages and ability and help them learn in a clear and simple way. I love to teach as it has been the profession I have been surrounded by my whole life and so gained a deep fulfilment in helping people learn. I have a clear and deep understanding of Mathematics and so will be able to help and guide you through any GCSE and A Level problem which you are having difficulties with. I tutored other Physics and Chemistry A Level students for two years during college, one of whom went from a grade C to A* in Chemistry in 6 months. I will make it my mission to ensure your grade is improved and your enjoyment of education is enhanced.

I have completed Maths and Further Maths A Level attaining grades A*A. My lessons will be for Mathematics GCSE and A Level students of any level and aspiration. I will ensure your understanding and enjoyment of Mathematics is improved by teaching in an interesting and interactive way. I will cater to your needs as much as possible. I am aware that students learn in a multitude of different ways and I will adapt my lessons to fully suit your needs. I believe repetitive practice is the most effective way to cement concepts as well as very gradually increasing the difficulty of assignments so you develop in skill, competence and confidence.
