About Bruce
I graduated with degrees in math from CalTech and the Johns Hopkins University. I intended to become a math professor, but chose to take another path in life because I wanted to explore what the world outside academia and the professional classes had to offer. I retain a love of beautiful mathematics and science while knowing there is a good deal more to the world than what is discussed in their tomes.

My teaching approach varies with the student and subject. Some students need reassurance, others a sounding board to bounce ideas off of. Others need information or techniques they've never seen. While I know it may sound airy-fairy, my approach to teaching is, in my opinion, a lot like Bruce Lee's approach to martial arts - I behave like water, in the sense that I 'flow' into the shape that is needed in the particular situation.
