About Peter
Qualifications:
University of Cape Town
MSc (Mathematics), 1975. The degree was awarded with distinction.
BSc Honours (Mathematics), 1967.
BSc (Applied Mathematics II, Mathematics III, Physics III), 1966.
The only subject I passed in my first year at university was Physics.
I blame this on the way that Mathematics I and Applied Mathematics I were taught.
When I finally got to second year Mathematics the text book
was Mathematical Analysis by Tom Apostol. The Bolzano-Weierstrass theorem and the Heine-Borel covering theorem made sense to me.
