About Jamiya
I am a rising junior in a STEM-based high school with a current GPA of 4.3 (out of 4.5 maximum.) I am also taking college courses for an Associate's in Paralegal Technology. Since 7th grade I've been introduced to STEM, and since 8th grade I've been in advanced placement and honors classes. I am also currently a student ambassador (since Fall 2024), so I have much experience working and communicating with people of all ages. I believe I’d be a really helpful tutor because I know what it’s like to struggle and then grow. I used to have a hard time with school, but I took the time to teach myself, stayed consistent, and eventually went from falling behind to making the A honor roll and taking AP and college courses. That experience helps me connect with students who feel stuck because I’ve been there—I understand how overwhelming it can be, but I also know it’s possible to turn things around with the right support. I’ve helped friends, siblings, and classmates in subjects they were struggling with, and every time, they ended up improving and feeling more confident. I break things down in simple ways and try to make learning less stressful and more like a conversation. I genuinely want to see people succeed, and I’ll always be patient and encouraging because I know how much that can mean when you’re trying to learn something new. 🤷♀️

Lessons will look like us debriefing the subject and what topics need to be worked on. (No more than 5 minutes) Afterwards we will follow the steps of: *Reviewing the fundamental principles of the topic * Discussion/QnA on the topic and the student's confusion. * Solving example problems and/or school work. *(optional) go over in-depth school work problems. * Move on to other topics the student may have trouble with.
