About Akshay

Before you read the advertisement, let me tell you about the vacancies for 2026. They are as follows.
1. If you are in or very close to the Indian timezone, I will probably only have a very early morning slot.
2. If your child wants to learn beyond the school curriculum, like study any of AP maths, physics or chemistry, then I will try my best to find a slot. I am looking for an ambitious student.
3. I have vacancies for students in far off timezone areas seeking help with GCSEs, A Levels or the IB Diploma.
Now you may proceed to read the main body of the advertisement.

I am an alumnus of I. I. T. Bombay and University of California with degrees in mechanical, aerospace and electrical engineering. My work experience includes research and teaching positions in The University of Texas at Dallas. I have also taught in engineering colleges in Bengaluru, India. It was during COVID-19 that I quit my college position to start teaching mathematics, physics and chemistry to middle and high school students in IGCSE, IB, CBSE, ICSE and state syllabi curricula. I have had students from Switzerland, Singapore, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kazakhstan and, of course, India. They have secured admissions in University of Edinburgh, QMUL, Northwestern University, University of New South Wales, Monash University, National University of Singapore, Cranfield University, etc. I work very closely with my students: there is only one student in each class, I meet each student every day of the week, etc. Over five years this has translated to highly successful students and brought me deep happiness.

Hello! Thanks for taking time to read my advertisement.

I have introduced myself above. Please read that if you haven’t already.

The following are some highlights of my tutoring career.

 1. All of my Cambridge, Edexcel and AQA IGCSE students have scored at least an A or 8 in maths, science, physics and chemistry. This is one grade below the highest grade, which is the A* or 9. There was one student who came to me just a couple of months before her exams and even she upped her poor grades to a B.

2. My most recent student of IB Mathematics Analysis and Interpretation SL received a final grade of 7 on 7. She has been admitted to several universities in the UK, Australia and Singapore.

3. I regularly have Indian students in the ICSE, CBSE and Karnataka's State Syllabus. My best students from this set score above 90% and clear the entrance exams for coaching centers like BASE, Allen, etc. I had a student score 98, 96 and 100 in ICSE maths, physics and chemistry last year.

4. The best score on the Digital SAT received by my student is 1390 out of 1600.

5. At times, I may teach undergraduate students looking for master’s admissions. I have had students study with me for the GRE, score 315 out of 340 and been admitted for M. S. degree programs in Northwestern University.

Not all my students go on to high scores and good universities. Even with such students I make small contributions. They are as follows.

1. I have students who may not reach the top of their class. Such students will gradually achieve their highest scores in the subjects I teach them. In some cases, their overall class rank also improves.

2. It is very common for parents to admit that their children have improved their communication in English, seem more relaxed and confident, and show greater interest in discussions on their career and college admissions.

3. There were cases where I was able to suspect that students have learning difficulties and bring this to the notice of parents. All such parents admitted that they too have such suspicions. Some parents took clinical help, made me a part of the journey and we have been working on the revised goals set by clinicians.

The following are my teaching methods.

1. I can only accept about eight students each year. At present, I don't have any vacancies to train for regular school exams till February, 2027. You can contact me if your child is young and has goals beyond doing well in school exams. I would especially be interested in working towards AP exams in maths, physics and chemistry.

2. I meet all my students for one hour a day, every day unless the student or I need a break from classes to recharge. In a month, we are likely to average 22 days of classes.

3. Students will see me solve problems in real time. I share screen from my iPad and write as I teach. This way the writing and my speech sync nicely so that students can follow along.

4. My goal is to work out in class all example and exercise problems from one textbook for each subject. This way there is no textbook question left unanswered. I usually achieve this goal.

5. I teach physics, chemistry and maths in the same one-hour-per-week time slot. We rotate chapters across subjects covering one chapter in one subject at a time.

6. It is highly unusual for me to assign homework. Since we work out all textbook problems in class no homework is necessary. My students generally repeat the textbook problems in their spare time as practice.

7. We begin solving past exam papers about four months before the final exams. In some cases we do this even earlier. For example, if my IGCSE and IB students are taking exams in May, 2026, and we will solve past exams from December, 2025.

8. For those targeting admissions in good universities, I work out one or two SAT problems in each class. I do this as early as eighth grade. This makes students aware of the extra mile they need to run in addition to high school exams. Once students buy into the SAT concept, I take over SAT tutoring as well either in the same one-hour slot or as a separate course.

A description of my teaching fee is as follows.

1. I charge one monthly fee of INR 12,500. This amount is fixed whether you would like teaching for one subject, two subjects or three subjects.

2. The SAT prep is also not charged extra if we do it in the same time slot.

3. For 12,500 rupees a month you can expect about 22 classes each month.

4. The duration of each class is 1 hour.

5. The hourly rate works out to 568 INR for all three subjects and the SAT.

We have reached the conclusion of this advertisement. In summary, I am a teacher with good pedigree who has helped students attain varying levels of success. My teaching is very thorough, for example, I work out entire textbooks in my classes. I have classes everyday so that students remain in touch with their academics. Since I meet my students everyday we usually share a close working relationship. All of this enables us to build together nicely.

Have a nice day, good luck!

All my clients pay me a monthly fee of 12,000 rupees for one-hour classes each day for about 22 classes in a month. For this fee I teach all three subjects, maths, physics and chemistry, to students in fourth grade to twelfth grade. I have had success with students studying the CBSE, ICSE, Indian state boards, IGCSE, A and AS Levels and IB Diploma curricula.
