About Joseph
I am a mathematician and former university professor. I have been giving private tutoring lessons for high school students since 2017. I have helped many students improve their grades in high school and pass entrance exams. I have a PhD in mathematics and several years experience teaching college courses like calculus, as well as experience tutoring college students one on one.

My approach to teaching is to identify missing knowledge and misunderstandings and systematically build up the missing knowledge step by step ... my goal is to restore the confidence of the learner. I like to keep the student active and trying exercises. Working through mistakes is where a lot of learning can happen. Other things I like to do are: isolate skills for practice; have the student explain their reasoning and understanding; have the student write down their process.
