About Rajveer
I'm a mathematics tutor with two years of experience working with students from Year 7 through to second-year university. My students have improved their exam scores by an average of 15–20% over a single term.
I study Financial Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Sydney, where I hold a WAM of 85 and was selected as a Dalyell Scholar — the university's most academically selective cohort. My own coursework spans Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Probability Theory, Stochastic Processes, and Econometrics, so the mathematics I teach is mathematics I work with at a high level every day.
In sessions, I focus on understanding over memorization. Most students who struggle with math aren't behind because they lack ability — they're missing one or two foundational concepts that everything else depends on. I identify those gaps early, address them directly, and build from there. Lessons run for one hour and combine guided worked examples with independent practice, so students leave each session having actually done the work, not just watched it being done.
I prepare custom problem sets when standard materials fall short, track progress across sessions, and structure exam preparation around past papers, timed drills, and marks-allocation strategy. Every lesson has a clear goal and connects to the one before it.
I take punctuality, clear communication, and reliability seriously — students and parents can expect consistent updates on progress and honest feedback on where effort needs to go.
Whether you're chasing a Band 6, working through a university course, or just trying to build a more solid foundation, I'm happy to have a conversation about how I can help.

I've been tutoring math for about two years now, currently working across HiiQ and Ezy Math with students ranging from Year 7 through to first and second-year university. Most of my students are in Years 10–12 working towards their HSC, though I also help university students with calculus, linear algebra, probability, and statistics.
My approach is pretty diagnostic. Before jumping into content, I spend the first session figuring out exactly where the gaps are — not just what topics a student struggles with, but why. Usually it's one or two foundational concepts that haven't clicked, and everything downstream of that breaks down as a result. Once I know where the problem is, I rebuild from there with targeted exercises rather than just redoing the same homework.
Lessons are typically an hour. I split that between going through a concept or worked example together, then having the student attempt problems independently while I watch how they think. That second part is important — a lot of errors only show up when you see someone's working process live, not just their final answer.
I write custom problem sets when the standard materials aren't hitting the right level, and I keep track of what we've covered so each session builds on the last rather than starting from scratch. I also do a lot of exam preparation — past paper walkthroughs, timed drills, learning to manage marks allocation under pressure.
On the academic side, I'm a Dalyell Scholar at the University of Sydney (WAM 85) studying Financial Mathematics & Statistics and Financial Economics, so the content I tutor is stuff I engage with at a high level myself. My own coursework covers Real Analysis, Stochastic Processes, Probability Theory, and Econometrics — which means I can go deep on the theory when a student needs it, but I've also had enough practice explaining it to know how to keep things accessible.
Average student improvement across a term has been around 15–20% on exam scores, though that varies a lot depending on where someone starts and how consistently they show up.
