About Steven
I am first and foremost a creative: poetry, fiction, art, music. Which means I was always told I was at a disadvantage at math, or doomed to be bad at it--especially after an ADD diagnosis. So, when I decided to study physics and math in college many people were shocked. What I found was the beauty and creativity which math allows: I fell in love with it. And now I utilize its concepts daily in my creative pursuits. I have been tutoring for three years, but sharing my passions with others for much longer. I am passionate about sharing my love for math, because I think most people miss out on all it has to offer.

Simplifying concepts and offering alternatives methods are the main goals of my teaching style, to give students the courage and interest to dive deeper. I use my history with creative writing, sports and wide interests to discuss math in new ways, about how math has helped me in my writing and my music. The lessons are for middle school through highschool students, with the goal of inspiring confidence in the student's ability to not only understand and apply math but excel in learning.
