About Zoë
I have been a private tutor for the past four years and have worked with students of all ages from kindergarten to college. Chemistry is my favorite subject to tutor as that is what my degree is in, but I tutor math up to pre-calculus as well as biology and physics. My students have shown great improvements on test scores and grades, and have gotten into their target schools.

My method when it comes to teaching is to listen first. Understanding what the student feels comfortable with and what they struggle with is the starting point, and then I can pinpoint what we should focus on. I tailor my explanations to each individual student based on what makes sense to them. Typically in a session a student will come to me with an assignment or specific topic that they would like to understand better, and we work through example problems. I focus heavily on conceptual understanding as that is the basis for meaningful learning.
