About Brittany
Hi! I'm Britt - a highly experienced, results-focused tutor within a wide range of math and sciences including a background in psychology, neuroscience, biology, chemistry. I've been helping students of all ages master difficult material and build confidence for over 20 years. I hold a degree in Psychology with minors in Biology and Neuroscience - which has given me the roadmap to understanding how learning actually works. Whether we're tackling math and science fundamentals, preparing for the SAT, or managing focus and study habits, I bring a kind, calm, clear, and highly personalized approach to every session. I have been tutoring since I was in 5th grade. At that time I was helping 3rd graders understand math and literacy. My tutoring skills and experiences have grown with me throughout my life. I tutored my fellow peers in a variety of math and science subjects in middle school. In high school I worked with autistic and special-needs peers on a variety of subjects - primarily math and science - but I assisted with anything and everything that came up. In college I was tutoring students in psychology, chemistry and biology. I also ran study sessions for Psychology 101 students. These classes typically consisted of 15 - 30 students at a time. I have continued my tutoring (mostly through online platforms) with students of all ages throughout the years. My main experience, however, lies with high school, college, and adult students, although everyone is always welcome :)

I take a student-centered approach to every session, meaning I will do whatever it takes to make sure you are understanding the material. I like to take time to get to know you first and really get a grasp on what you're struggling with and why. From there we develop a method together that works for you. I am open to and have used every teaching method I can possibly think of. It all depends on how you learn best, and that's what I'm here to help you figure out!
I tutor all age groups, from elementary school all the way up to graduate level science courses. I have a wide range of skills in a lot of academic subjects but my primary areas of focus are math (up to algebra) and science (psychology, biology, and chemistry, mainly).
As someone with ADHD myself, I understand the difficulties of neurodivergent learning and am always willing to do what it takes to help you really click with the material, no matter how long it takes. I know that every student learns differently so I'm here to meet you exactly where you are - and move at a pace that works with you, not against you.
