About Mike
I started tutoring high school students in Math back in 2003 when I was a senior in college. Shortly after, I taught science to 5th-8th grade students at a cool place called Astrocamp. Shortly after, in Los Angeles, I returned to tutoring. I tutored high school and college students in Math and Physics. I covered math up to Calculus, and I tutored Physics, too. In the past 6 years, I tutored for Oregon Tutor. I mostly taught SAT and ACT Math prep courses, but I did other subjects, too.

I have always found math and science to be fascinating. It's amazing what people have figured out about this incredible universe we live in. I like to help students to not just understand how to do math and science, but also appreciate it and to find it exciting.
We'll start looking at your assignments by seeing what you know and what you don't know. We'll work on finding out why some things are a struggle for you, and we'll work on developing strategies to get better at those things. We'll focus on helping you to feel independent, too. It's one thing to say "I get it now", and it's another thing to know how to solve difficult problems when you're by yourself.
