About Saahir
I'm currently in the final year of my math and physics degree, and math is something I've always been fascinated by but also found troubling, particularly in middle school and high school. It was never taught to me in a way I found meaningful, the teaching philosophy was usually just 'memorize x, y and z'. When I got to my first year of university, I decided to try to discover and teach the concepts to myself, my mind found this a lot more engaging and fun, and I learned that math is really just large pillars built on the foundations of simple truths. I believe anyone can learn math, since it can be simplified to essential things that anyone can understand, it's just simplification that takes effort and curiosity.

I believe math is something everyone can understand if they put in the effort. School can prioritize memorization over actual conceptual understanding, which can make learning more complicated than it needs to be.
In my lessons, problems and concepts will be broken down into first principles, then built up from there, so that students learn to identify the basic machinery that lies beneath some much larger and complicated problems.
A typical lesson plan of mine would involve firstly breaking down concepts/problems into their first principles, the level where we only have the axioms of the concept/problem, then looking at ways that we can build up from these first principles to the complete concept or to the solution of the problem.
My lessons are for math students in middle school to math students between middle school and first-year university. I specialize in calculus, linear algebra, advanced functions, and proof-based problem solving.
