About Cameron
I'm a patient listener in general but take extra care when helping someone with physics and mathematics because of the abstract nature of the topics and the intimidating feeling that many students have with them. My goal professionally is to become a professor of physics and as a step in that journey, I am doing my masters at the University of Tuebingen starting this October. My previous work experience is mainly from my co-op jobs that include research assistant positions at UWaterloo's Ultrafast Laser Lab, TRIUMF, and the Subatomic Physics Group at Mount Allison University. At UWaterloo I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Honours Physics with a minor in Mathematics. Overall, I am a firm believer in the notion that someone who understands a theory well, can explain it simply and at any education level.

I am flexible to the student's learning style but would typically give lessons with a pencil and paper. From my own experience and from talking with many educators and fellow students in physics and mathematics, I've learned that solving exercises and explaining your reasoning are the most valuable but the most challenging tasks as a student. This is why my approach to tutoring is not to format a lesson in the traditional sense, but to focus on working through example problems with the student. I would provide custom notes that cover the concepts used in the next session along with some worked out example problems. Depending on the level of physics or mathematics the student is at, these example problems can range from numerical calculations, to derivations, to rigorous proofs.
