About Jessica
22 years after finishing college, I went to grad school. This was right before the pandemic began and I had to quickly adapt to being a distance learner, in addition to becoming a student again after so long. I truly relate to how challenging and rewarding school can be. I'm very proud of my 4.0 in my Masters degree program.
I'm caring, empathetic and it's my joy in life to help people. I'm a lifelong learner and took up guitar lessons three years ago. Learning an instrument takes patience and persistence, it can be frustrating too, but seeing how far I've come makes me feel very proud It's a lot like school.

My teaching perspective is that people learn best when they feel respected and heard. I want to understand what is challenging for you, as well as your strengths and goals. Together we create a plan to help you reach them. I will come prepared for our lessons, and reflect after each one to see what's working well and what isn't. This is a partnership.
My strengths are in English in all forms: reading, writing, research, as well as homework strategies and academic planning. I can help a range of ages from elementary school through college.
