As a tutor with a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and two years of experience, my approach centers on clarity, structure, and adaptability. I use a whiteboard to visually walk students through complex math and science problems step by step, breaking them down into manageable parts. I also incorporate IXL practice to reinforce concepts and give students targeted exercises in the specific areas where they need extra support.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by guided problem-solving where we work through examples together. I then gradually shift responsibility to the student, allowing them to try similar problems independently while I provide feedback and encouragement. We end with a short recap and, when appropriate, practice recommendations to strengthen mastery.
What sets me apart is my commitment to meeting students where they are academically. I do not assume a fixed level of ability; instead, I assess each student’s current understanding and build from there toward their individual goals. I recognize that every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching style to match their unique learning preferences.
My lessons are ideal for elementary and middle school students who need support in math and science foundations. I also work with high school or early college students who need help with study strategies, organization skills, and college readiness preparation.
