About Fionn
I am a professional soccer player and a Sports Nutritionist from Ireland. I graduated with a Distinction from the University of Glasgow in my Masters Degree in Human Nutrition with a specialism in Sport Science. I also obtained First Class Honours in my BSc in Health and Performance Science from University College Dublin.
I have experience of working as a research assistant on multiple sports nutrition studies, both remote and lab based. I also have worked as a sports nutritionist with football teams in Ireland, advising coaches and educating young athletes on health & nutrition for optimum performance and development.
I have studied a wide range of sports nutrition modules and topics as part of my education and professional career. Some of the topics which I have a particular interest in teaching include, but are not limited to: protein intake, carbohydrate intake for athletes, recovery, sleep and developing individualised meal plans.
I am also a professional soccer player with experience playing in Ireland and Italy, providing me with first hand experience of the value of nutrition in sport. This allows me to understand the importance of the practical application of nutrition principles in everyday life, which is something I will try to incorporate in my lessons.
