About Idris
I am an experienced violin tutor with 18+ years of teaching practice, working with around 300 students including high school students, college learners, and adults. My teaching philosophy focuses on making learning simple, clear, and effective, as I believe students learn best when lessons are easy to follow.
I pay close attention to fundamentals such as posture, bowing technique, rhythm, and tone quality, ensuring strong skill development. I break down complex techniques into smaller steps so students can learn with confidence.
I also guide students in building good practice habits that support steady progress. One of my notable achievements is helping students grow into confident violin players. My aim is to create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel motivated to learn.

My teaching style for violin emphasises communication, adaptability, and practical engagement. I observe each student’s learning style and adjust lessons to their pace, abilities, and goals. I teach posture, bowing, fingering, intonation, tone, phrasing, and musical expression while encouraging creativity and personal interpretation.
Lessons include real-life examples such as learning favourite pieces, performing for family or small audiences, and understanding music’s emotional impact. I also teach supporting subjects like music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to help students become well-rounded musicians.
My aim is to create a structured, motivating, and inspiring environment where students enjoy learning and grow steadily.
