About Emily
Hi, I’m Emily! I’m a graduate research student at McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science in biology, and several years of tutoring and teaching experience! I’ve had the opportunity to support students across a variety of ages and learning environments through my work as a math instructor, private tutor, and teaching assistant. I absolutely love helping students work through challenging material and seeing their confidence grow along the way!

I believe learning should feel encouraging, not intimidating! My approach is patient, positive, and tailored to each student. I like to break tricky concepts into manageable pieces, try different ways of explaining things, and focus on truly understanding the “why” rather than just memorizing steps. Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence along the way :)
