About Maddy
I am a recent graduate in French & Spanish from Durham University, about to begin a Master's at Oxford University. Having achieved First Class Honours in my degree, I am qualified to teach French and Spanish to a high level. I have experience tutoring via the online platform 'MyTutor' in addition to giving face-to-face classes during university holidays.

I will begin each lesson briefly going over what was covered in the previous session, focusing on key vocabulary and grammatical structures. I will encourage the students to create revision cards on which they can write 5 to 10 phrases relevant to each topic, and I will test them on these phrases to make sure they have been retained. I have found this to be a very effective way of cementing knowledge, and building up a reserve of key phrases that can be applied to any exam question. This will also allow us to measure progress, and note which areas need work.
I think it is important not to do too much at once, and not to overwhelm the student. I will focus each session on a particular area that the student might be struggling with, and make sure that this is understood before moving on to the next topic.
