About Lana
Hi there! My name is Lana and I have been a tutor for over 3 years. My time spent with students is extremely rewarding because I enjoy allowing others to step into their fullest potential. I am a graduate of the University of Connecticut, a former opera singer, and a lover of holistic healing and intuitive medicine. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, creating art, and walking my dog. Spending time with me, whether as a friend, coworker, student, or family member, is always a blast! I like to make things light and fun and allow people to truly be themselves around me. Teaching is my passion, and bringing my energy to tutoring is one of my favorite things.

As a teacher, I act as a mentor that not only provides knowledge about the subject material, but also focuses on mindset and attitude during learning. It is crucial that learning occurs in a comfortable environment where the student feels heard and understood. I engage in honest conversation within the necessary curriculum to provide an in-depth learning experience that leads students to a deeper understanding of the subject in an enjoyable, fun way. I strongly encourage questions and dialogue throughout the session and will always put the mental and emotional needs of each student before the subject material.
My lessons are for students up to college-age. I am happy to provide insight on all of the subjects that I have explored throughout my education: philosophy, psychology, cognitive science, quantitative methods, statistics, anthropology, physiology, neuroscience, and more. My interdisciplinary approach to education sets me apart as I have a broad knowledge of many subjects that provide insight and context.
