About Genevieve
My teaching approach is centred on helping students connect deeply with the piano while enjoying every step of the learning process. I focus on building strong technical skills alongside composition basics, harmonic analysis, and music storytelling. This combination helps students understand how music works and express emotion through their playing.
I work closely with students exploring jazz’s rich improvisation and rhythmic complexity as well as classical music’s precision and expressive depth. Lessons are tailored to each individual, supporting them in mastering technique while developing their unique musical voice.
We practice learning by ear, improvisation, and creating personal arrangements, so students gain confidence and flexibility at the keyboard. I emphasise the emotional touch behind every note, helping learners convey feeling and character in their music.

I’m a piano teacher with over 9 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. I love helping students bring music into their everyday lives in a fun and meaningful way. My lessons are perfect for adult learners, late beginners, or anyone returning to the piano after a break.
I focus on building solid technique while encouraging creativity and personal expression. We explore personal song arrangements, accompaniment skills, and learning by ear, so you can play music that truly speaks to you.
