About Siya
Hi! I'm a second-year medical student at the University of Lancashire. Alongside my studies, I have experience mentoring students, which has strengthened my communication, teaching, and leadership skills.
As a medical student, I understand the importance of being professional, empathetic, patient, and approachable. I believe every student learns differently, so I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence.
During my own A-Levels, I found the application of knowledge to unfamiliar exam questions the most challenging aspect of Chemistry. In A-Level exams, you're rarely asked questions you've never seen before—the key is learning how to apply your understanding under timed exam conditions. Once I mastered this skill, my confidence and performance improved significantly, and it's the approach I now teach my students.
My goal is to help students who feel stuck or unsure about how to achieve the top grades in A-Level Chemistry. I focus heavily on active recall, exam technique, past paper practice, and mark scheme analysis so students understand exactly what examiners are looking for. I also place particular emphasis on required practical questions and provide clear, step-by-step calculations for Physical Chemistry, specifically tailored to the AQA A-Level Chemistry specification.
My lessons are engaging, structured, and personalised, helping students develop the knowledge, exam skills, and confidence needed to excel in Year 12 and Year 13 Chemistry.

My lessons are designed for Year 12 and Year 13 A-Level Chemistry students who want to improve their understanding, build confidence, and achieve top grades. I focus on active recall, exam technique, and applying concepts to real A-Level exam questions rather than memorising content. Every lesson includes past paper practice, mark scheme analysis, and simulated exam-style questions to help students understand exactly what examiners are looking for and avoid common mistakes.
I explain challenging topics using clear diagrams, visual aids, and simple step-by-step explanations, making complex concepts easier to understand and remember. Lessons are typically 1 hour long and are tailored to each student's individual strengths and areas for improvement.
I am currently a second-year medical student at the University of Lancashire, where I achieved a Distinction in my first year. I also secured AAA in A-Level Chemistry, Biology, and Physics and was awarded the "Margaret Bryce Smith Charity Award for outstanding achievement during sixth form". Alongside my academic achievements, I have experience mentoring students, helping them develop confidence, effective study habits, and exam strategies to reach their full potential.
