About Al
I am a dedicated and experienced tutor with over 3,000 hours of teaching since 2019, specialising in GCSE and A Level Maths and Sciences. Having studied under the British curriculum myself, I have a strong understanding of exam requirements and how to help students succeed. Besides this, I am a second year medical student studying in Charles University.
I take a structured yet adaptable approach to teaching, ensuring each student fully understands the fundamentals before progressing to exam-level application. My lessons are tailored to individual learning styles, with a focus on building confidence, independence, and strong problem-solving skills.
I have helped many students achieve top grades, including A*, as well as significant improvements from lower starting points. I am professional, patient, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and reaching their full potential.

About Me & Teaching Style
My teaching is built around two core principles: mastering fundamentals and building lasting confidence. I ensure every student develops a complete understanding of the basics, identifying and closing any knowledge gaps early on—because strong foundations are the key to long-term success.
Once the core concepts are secure, I focus on retention and application. I regularly challenge students with exam-style problems and encourage them to take the lead during lessons. This not only strengthens their understanding but also builds confidence, independence, and exam readiness.
My overall tutoring philosophy is simple: every student learns differently, and my role is to adapt my teaching to match their thinking style. I focus not just on delivering content, but on helping students understand how to learn, think critically, and approach unfamiliar problems with confidence.
What I find most rewarding about tutoring is seeing students transform—whether that’s moving from a C to an A, or achieving top grades they once thought were out of reach. Helping students realise their potential is what drives my passion for teaching.
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like
Each lesson is structured but flexible, depending on the student’s needs:
Quick review of previous material to reinforce retention
Concept teaching with clear explanations and real examples
Guided practice, where we solve problems together step-by-step
Independent challenge, where the student takes the lead
Exam-style questions to build technique and time management
This structure ensures that students not only understand the topic but can confidently apply it under exam conditions.
Personalised Approach & Resources
I tailor every lesson to the individual student. Some of the strategies I use include:
Breaking down complex topics into simple, digestible steps
Using exam board-specific past papers (AQA, Edexcel, CAIE)
Identifying weak areas through targeted questioning
Adapting explanations (visual, logical, or step-based) depending on the student’s learning style
Providing structured revision plans and practice material outside lessons
This flexible approach allows me to support a wide range of students—from those aiming for top grades to those looking to build confidence and improve steadily.
Experience & Results
I have been tutoring since 2019, starting during my AS Level studies, and have since accumulated over 3,000 hours of teaching experience. I have worked with more than 40 students, helping over 30 achieve A* (or equivalent) at A-level, alongside many others significantly improving their grades.
Subjects & Exam Boards
I specialise in GCSE and GCE A Level subjects, including:
Mathematics
Additional Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry
Biology
I am familiar with major UK exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, and Cambridge International (CAIE), allowing me to tailor lessons precisely to exam requirements.
