About Jake
I understand the challenges of school firsthand, having dedicated countless hours to earn my degree. My goal is to inspire and support students who want to excel in science and mathematics, but I also deeply relate to those who simply want to pass. I struggled with English during my GCSEs and only reached the grade I needed thanks to a tutor who believed in me. That experience shaped my desire to give back and help others chase their goals, just as my tutor helped me.

My own experience being tutored in English during my GCSEs showed me the transformative power of good tutoring. That support helped me reach the grade I needed for A-levels, and it inspired me to begin tutoring throughout my university years.
Each lesson typically lasts one hour, with flexibility to extend if needed. I end every session with a 10–15 minute quiz, which I mark between lessons. The first 5–15 minutes of the following session are dedicated to reviewing quiz results, identifying areas for improvement, and celebrating progress. From there, I address any questions the student has and work through related problems. If there are no questions, I continue with my structured teaching plan.
My teaching style is built around consistent practice — completing questions regularly has been key to my own academic success, and I’ve seen it work wonders for others too. Students also gain access to a growing library of online flashcards that I’ve personally created. This system evolves based on student feedback, ensuring it stays relevant and effective.
