About Carrie
I believe 1. ALL people CAN learn 2. Not everyone learns the same way 3. A teacher's job is to facilitate a student's learning by finding out WHAT works for that student. I am a lifelong learner myself. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology and two Master of Education degrees (Educational Leadership and School Counseling). I am demanding. No cell phones allowed during instruction! The human brain cannot learn when distracted. However, I promise learning occurs with me! I do not give up and I do not let my students give up.

I can tutor the following subjects: Elementary and Junior High Science High School Biology High School Physical Science (IPC) High School Human Anatomy & Physiology German (level 1) I can get a student ready to pass the Texas Biology STAAR EOC test!! I have been a junior high and high school science teacher (in Title 1 schools and advanced schools teaching both level and honors classes) for over 28 years. I have worked with English Language Learners, Special Education students, and GT students. I am certified in Biology and Physical Science. I am dynamic and very focused on how kids learn and have the experience to change HOW I teach content based on the students' needs. I am demanding and I guarantee academic growth if a student is doing their part in the learning process. Learning is not a passive process. It requires the student to actively be engaged and I have had a lot of brain-based training and use what I've learned to guide a student to learn. I do not use extrinsic rewards but instead work to help students become proud of themselves, which is the greatest motivator there is. I am available any time and any day in the summer and then evenings and weekends during the school year. I can tutor online or in-person at a local library within 10 miles from Montgomery, Texas.
