About Jasper
ABOUT ME
Hello! I am a professional guitarist and teacher with more than fifteen years of teaching experience. I hold a Master of Arts in Classical Guitar and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
That combination may sound unusual, but it reflects the way I understand music: as something that joins technique, listening, structure, proportion and expression.
Over the years I have taught children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to experienced musicians, in both English and Spanish.
My teaching is highly personalized. I do not believe that every student should follow the same method or repertoire. Some students want to master classical technique. Others want to play rock, pop or fingerstyle arrangements. Some want to understand music more deeply, while others simply want to enjoy playing again after many years away from the instrument.
What matters is finding the right path for each individual student. I call my approach the "Pythagorean School": a teaching philosophy inspired by the ancient idea that music brings together ear, number, proportion, discipline and beauty. You do not need any interest in philosophy or music theory to study with me.
The principle is much simpler: good teaching should give you musical tools that stay with you for life.

Learning guitar should not feel like collecting random exercises. You need a clear path, good guidance, and a way to understand what you are doing so that your progress becomes lasting.
I have been teaching guitar for more than twelve years, working with students of different ages, levels and musical backgrounds. Every lesson is adapted to your goals, your musical taste and the way you learn best.
Whether you want to improve your technique, play your favorite songs, study classical guitar, develop your improvisation, or simply become a more confident and independent musician, we will build a structured path around you.
What we can work on:
1. Technique and coordination: improve precision, control, fluency and confidence.
2. Songs and repertoire: work in detail on the music you genuinely want to play.
3. Classical guitar: develop tone, articulation, phrasing and technical refinement.
4. Improvisation: strengthen creativity, musical instinct and freedom on the instrument.
5. Music reading: learn to read music confidently if it supports your goals.
6. Musicianship: understand rhythm, harmony, phrasing and musical structure in a practical way.
7. Custom arrangements: I can create or adapt arrangements specifically for your level and musical interests.
A structured approach:
Lessons are 60 minutes, once a week, online. You will also have access to a shared Google Drive system where we can organize your repertoire, exercises, notes and weekly goals.
This makes your practice much clearer: instead of wondering what to work on between lessons, you will always have a defined direction.
My goal is not simply to teach you what to play during one lesson each week. I want to give you tools that gradually make you a more confident, knowledgeable and independent musician.
Especially for adult students
Many of my students are adults who either started later in life or returned to the guitar after years away from it.
You do not need endless hours of practice to make meaningful progress. What matters much more is having the right material, a realistic plan, and someone who can identify exactly what is holding you back.
Your first lesson
Your first lesson is completely commitment-free. We will look at your current level, what you would like to achieve, and the main areas that may be limiting your progress. From there, I will help you define a clear path forward.
