About Marinela
Hello! I’m Marinela, and I bring a passion for numbers that has shaped my entire journey. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business Economics and Finance. For over eight years, I have worked in the corporate world, specialising in data and analytics at major banks.
For the past three years, I’ve been volunteering in local schools supporting students in mathematics through both one-to-one and small group sessions, working with students from KS2 to KS3 and GCSE preparation.
I believe that strong mathematical skills are built through understanding, not memorisation. My goal is to help students develop solid foundations, improve their problem-solving ability, and gain confidence in their own abilities.
Beyond mathematics, I encourage students to build resilience, organisation, and independent thinking—skills that are valuable throughout education and beyond. In my professional career, I use data and analytical thinking every day, allowing me to show students how mathematics can also be applied in real-world situations.
Outside of work and volunteering, I enjoy travelling, staying active, and spending time with friends and family.
