About Norwyn
I have had several years of experience working in positions of leadership for the student body at all levels of my academic career and I can conclude that I am adept in cooperating with others and providing useful insights during group discussion. These traits have served me well as I am able to easily communicate ideas to others; a useful attribute for a range of activities such as seminar discussions and presentations. My involvement with university debating has only helped me improve these skills further, ensuring that my communication skills retain a high level of quality. This should serve me in good stead for potential job opportunities involving good presentation and communication skills.
As of July 2020, I have graduated with a BA in History from the University of Southampton. A good highlight of my experience was writing my dissertation on the impeachment of the first Governor-General of Bengal, Warren Hastings, and evaluating the extent to which it constituted as a human rights trial. The topic allowed me to delve deep into primary source research with the writings and speeches of Edmund Burke, the lead prosecutor, and provided the opportunity for me to also delve into the philosophy of the role of state and what this entailed for the different members of the trial.

I have experience, due to my position at my university's debating union, of teaching students ways to improve their debating. We would often have to create our own resources to present to a lecture hall consisting of over 25 students. The work that I have done at the union has helped improve the performances of our members at national competitions and has resulted in a couple of our teams qualifying at national tournaments.
