I specialise in English, Maths, and 11+ exam preparation, and I’ve supported more than 80% of my students in gaining admission to their first-choice schools. My approach is student-focused and confidence-driven, adapting each lesson to suit individual learning styles and needs. I hold a BA in International History from the London School of Economics and recently completed my MSc in Management at Imperial College London. My academic background, combined with a proven track record in tutoring, allows me to deliver structured, engaging, and effective lessons that truly make a difference. Whether your child needs help building foundational skills or is aiming for top exam results, I’m here to support their journey every step of the way.

My approach is centred around building confidence and making English accessible, whatever a student’s starting point. I break down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps, focusing on key skills such as analysis, interpretation and structured writing. I use a range of exam-style questions, extracts and past papers to develop critical thinking and strong exam technique.
Lessons typically last one hour, though I adapt the pace to each student’s needs, ensuring they leave with both understanding and confidence. With over six years of experience tutoring more than 80 students, I’ve supported learners preparing for 11+, 13+ and GCSE exams, as well as those needing extra help to strengthen their reading and writing foundations.
My academic background – a BA from the London School of Economics and an MSc from Imperial College London – underpins a structured and rigorous approach, while lessons remain engaging and interactive to keep students motivated. Whether your child is aiming for top exam results or needs steady guidance to build core literacy skills, my lessons are tailored to support their individual journey.

Great first lesson! Toby was pretty nervous going in, having never had a tutor before, but he came out of the lesson with a smile on his face, excited to go back next week. A welcome but surprising out come!!
I’ve been so grateful for Ruby’s tutoring with my daughter who has autism. English has always been a real struggle for her, and she used to get very anxious about writing or reading aloud. Ruby has been so patient and encouraging, breaking things down in a way that makes sense and never rushing her.
Over the past year, I’ve seen a huge improvement in her confidence with English. She’s much more willing to have a go at writing and is starting to enjoy reading again. I would highly recommend Ruby to any parent looking for extra support — especially if their child needs that extra bit of patience and understanding.Ruby has been tutoring my children for the past two years in both English and Maths. Over that time, their confidence has really grown, especially with tricky areas like structuring essays, analysing texts and tackling exam-style questions. In Maths they’ve become much more secure with problem-solving and applying methods under timed conditions. Ruby is very patient, reliable and always makes lessons engaging. I’ve seen a huge improvement in their results and attitude to learning, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for extra support.
