My three step method:
1 Concept First, Formula Later: and never start with formulas I start with a real life story or example so the child understand by we need this chapter was the why is clear the how becomes easy.
2 The 50-50 Rule : my class is not lecture 50% I explain 50% the student solved the students solve the question on my white board while I like died this remove exam fear.
3.No doubt left behind: every class friends with a 10 minute doubt session plus a small five question marksheet I also give a weekly report to parents on WhatsApp test scores and improvement areas
