About Rameez
I am a medical student studying at one of the top London medical schools, having received interviews and offers from UCL, Imperial, King's and Queen Mary (Barts) to study medicine. I am enhanced DBS certified and have tutored/mentored over 50 students from KS2, KS3, GCSE, A-level, medical school entrance exams, medical school interviews and pre-clinical medical students. All the medical school applicants I have mentored have gone on to gain places at medical school, with the majority gaining a place in their first-choice option. I have conducted over 70 mock interviews for medicine and for other organisations/university societies, with many of these being 1-on-1. This has given me a strong understanding of what interviewers look for in candidates and how to best train them to excel. In my first few years at university, I was a lead tutor for a medical admissions company and represented the company on BBC Radio. I am also currently part of a prestigious tutoring agency based in London. I have taught in a variety of settings, including in Saturday schools, homework clubs and even abroad in a secondary school in Tanzania! COVID-19 has certainly proved to be a challenge to the education of many children. With some losing motivation, the drive to learn or even just missing lessons. I currently have students I am working hard to overcome these challenges with and I relish the opportunity to work with more. Please feel free to get in touch!

I like to have a firm plan with my tutees. We tend to begin the tutoring journey by setting our target for the year and making small steps towards achieving that target by the end of our tuition. I am also a strong believer in the importance of motivating students. Content is easy to forget if the students are not motivated in their subject or inspired to retain the information. I utilise behavioural psychology to work with the student and help them achieve their potential. Having worked with a variety of children in previous mentoring roles, I'm familiar with the different needs different children have. Hard work pays off, so with high achieving students, we often decide to set homework tasks throughout the week to consolidate their knowledge. I utilise active recall and spaced repetition in my methods of teaching as well. As time progresses, I also learn how the student best understands concepts so we often adjust lessons further as we continue.

I’m a year 11 student that’s recently started lessons with Rameez, I’ve had two sessions so far and already I’m convinced that he can help me get those 8s and 9s I hanker to achieve.
He speaks with confidence and is very clear when he teaches. He knows how to transfer his knowledge on the topics to me, without me questioning what he’s saying. He has a very structured style of teaching which suits me perfectly. In our last session, he taught me something in calculating moles, that no other tutor/ school teacher has told me before. It was just a small tip but was so useful and made calculating moles easier for me. Brilliant tutor, and I strongly recommend.
I would highly recommend Rameez to anyone looking for high quality tuition. Having worked with him on various projects, I know he is a diligent character and always puts the client first. He is creative in how he solves problems and is particularly strong at recognising problems and curating solutions. Highly recommend him!
