About Ian
My wife and I successfully home educated three children before I started tutoring. Two went on to University (with our eldest currently applying for PhD positions after finishing her Masters) and one chose an apprenticeship. I have also spent twenty-five years as Commissioning Editor in the publishing industry and the understanding and experience gained during this time adds an extra insight into my work as a tutor. I have a current DBS certificate.

Hi! I am Ian O’Reilly BA(hons) PGCert FCMI. I am passionate about helping young people grasp how wonderful and life-expanding literature can be. My approach is to encourage the student to enjoy the text and be caught up in the characters and plot before starting the necessary technical work that GCSE and A Levels require for a good pass.
I studied English and History at University and Modern Literature at Postgraduate level. I specialise in taking students through the required texts at GCSE and A Level. I would normally teach for an hour for each lesson.
