About Dharma
Hi! My name is Dharma. I’m a senior in high school currently taking AP Literature, AP Latin, and AP Research, and I earned a 5 on AP Lang. I’ve taken creative writing and Shakespeare classes, and I read widely in my free time, which has given me a strong foundation in both close reading and clear writing. I’ve always loved language, and I really enjoy helping other people understand English in a way that feels clear and manageable. My goal when tutoring is to make the work feel understandable instead of overwhelming — to help students slow down, see what’s actually happening in a text, and feel more confident in their own thinking.

Teaching Method & Techniques:
I focus on breaking skills into clean, intuitive steps. Whether we’re working on an essay, a confusing passage, or general reading comprehension, I try to show students the “why” behind what they’re doing. I use simple examples, patterns, and small exercises that build toward the bigger skill.
A Typical Lesson:
A session usually starts with whatever the student is working on or wants to improve. That might be a paragraph they’re stuck on, a chapter they didn’t fully understand, or an assignment they need help with. We look at it together, figure out where the confusion is coming from, and work through it step by step. By the end of the lesson, the student should feel steadier, clearer, and more confident.
What Sets Me Apart:
As a current student who genuinely loves the humanities and linguistics, I know what it’s like to navigate English from a learner’s perspective. I’ve taken multiple honors and AP-level English courses, and I want to help students find both confidence and enjoyment in English.
