About Audrey
After getting my BA in literature in composition, I began doing freelance copy work across my travels. I've balanced my professional life with high-volume bartending and complex live-in home renovations. I was an award-winning reporter in the PNW before returning to Nashville for family. Now, I'm a literacy specialist by day and tutor by night! I volunteer with the Nashville Adult Literacy Council, the Nashville Food Project, Room In The Inn, and more. I'm grateful to be of service in my community and abroad and I believe teaching is the greatest gift I can give.

I like to understand how my students tick before diving in. It's important to have a positive rapport so that students come to the table excited to spend time with a subject that may have previously prompted dread and anxiety.
My students tend to forget they're "in school" once we get the ball going: before they know it, they've unlocked a priceless skillset that will enhance every area of their lives.
I tailor lessons for everyone from kindergartners learning their sounds to second career business executives hoping to hone in their ESL fluency. I enjoy helping high school and college students crack the code to the essay that's stumping them during exam week, applicants fine-tuning that admissions statement, and even writers wanting a trusted set of eyes on their work before they submit to their dream magazine.
I teach because I love it. I teach because good teachers made all the difference in my life. It's an honor to pay it forward.
