About Sofia
Hi there! My name is Sofia Ciron, a Grade 9 Filipino student currently studying in the University of St. La Salle. I am our school publication's Literary Editor, having won an On-The-Spot Poem Writing Contest during my elementary years. I can readily assure you of a supportive, communicative, and comfortable work environment where new ideas and learnings are expected. Additionally, I have performed in our school's Coliseum as a singer and performer—along with additional emcee experience. These strong public speaking and communication skills allow me to lead online classes with high energy and confidence. I am fully committed to bringing this same focus and professionalism to help my students succeed every day.

Providing online exercises and roleplaying during online classes.
Hi! My name is Sofia. I am a grade 9 student from the Philippines, studying in the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City. I am part of our high school English publication, the Lasallian Crossroads, taking the role of Literary Editor. To know more about me, my first language is English, some of my hobbies are writing poems and reading online books.
**Lesson Topic: Ordering Food at a Restaurant (Real-World English)
Student Level: Beginner to Intermediate (Ages 8–14)
Main Goal: To help the student confidently order food using proper English sentence structures.
Warm-Up & Greeting
Say hello, ask about their day, and build a friendly connection.
Show pictures of different foods on the screen.
Ask: "Do you like pizza or burgers?" to get them talking immediately.
Vocabulary Introduction
Introduce 3–4 key words using bright visuals and real objects (e.g., menu, order, bill, dessert).
Have the student repeat the words to practice correct pronunciation.
Target Language & Sentence Frames
Introduce a simple, useful sentence structure on the screen6.
Example frame: "I would like to order the ________, please."
Practice filling in the blank with the new vocabulary words together.
Interactive Practice & Role-Play
Do a fun, real-world role-play activity to build speaking confidence.
I act as the waiter, and the student acts as the hungry customer using the sentence frames we just practiced.
Lastly, at the end of the lesson, use digital rewards (like stars or virtual stickers) to celebrate their correct answers.
As a tutor, I value lessons and exercises to help the student learn how to overall use English not just as a form of knowledge but something they can use in various real-world situations, especially with English being widely known as the universal language.
These lessons are for any students below 18 with no experience, degree, or level.
