Completed a Masters of Teaching (Primary), experienced in the classroom and one on one teaching.
Also very familiar with the Victorian Curriculum.
I have 10 years of experience in private tutoring to a range of ages:
- Literacy - Reading, Writing and Oral Language

Comprehension, not memorization, is key!
I believe that real, effective learning is based on truly understanding and comprehending the information. Instead of memorizing formulas etc. I do this by engaging the learner using stories and materials to bring learning into the real world so it is relatable and by scaffolding on what they already know.
My method is about building their confidence and then guiding them to build a strong foundation of knowledge. This is because when they continue to move on to more difficult aspects in Numeracy or Literacy, they learn the skills to utilize what they know and problem solve. Making them independent and stronger learners.
