About Janya
I am an A level student currently studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I have achieved 9s and 8s in GCSE Maths and science. Currently, I have 2 years of tutoring experience. I am passionate about teaching as I like to see the satisfaction that students gain when reaching their academic potential. As a student myself, I can work closely with the students advising them on revision techniques that worked for me and how to work on a test that may have not gone well.
I want students to go into an exam feeling confident with the knowledge they have and achieve the results they strive for.

From my experience of teaching Key Stage 3 students Maths, I used detailed explanation with the steps I did for working out a question in a particular topic. Then I would give them questions to try in the lesson with progressing difficulty. Lessons before exam season were packed with typical exam questions and re-consolidating questions they got wrong. Practice is key in Maths!
For teaching Science, a typical lesson would include a detailed explanation using slides and my notes and then we would go through exam technique that the student would need to apply for answering questions. If there is time in the lesson, we go through exam questions and these questions are revisited close to the exam dates.
Typical lesson consists of an hour per subject and 1 to 1.
