About Melisa
I’m a current A-Level student studying Psychology, Biology, and Chemistry. I’m aiming to become a neuroscientist in the future as I have an interest in the brain and the complexity of the way it works and affects how we live our day-to-day lives physically and mentally. Aside from my studies, I play basketball for a team and I have a part-time job in a care home. I've experienced exam stress and how difficult balancing studies and social life is so I want to ensure that I can make studying and learning difficult content as easy and enjoyable as possible. I want to teach because I enjoy helping others and I believe I have the skill to break down complex topics with high effectiveness. I've tutored Year 10s and 11s before, and I’ve seen how much of a difference it makes when someone explains a topic in a way that really clicks to build confidence for exams.

In my hour-long sessions, I will ensure the content is productive and engaging while encouraging application of knowledge and setting homework to solidify knowledge. As an A-Level student with a strong academic success in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry, I offer structured and effective tutoring sessions for GCSE students at both foundation and higher levels. I have experience working with Year 10 and 11 students, offering help and tutoring with exam paper run-throughs, understanding key concepts of difficult topics, helping them build confidence and improve their understanding in the lead-up to their GCSE exams. I believe that understanding why something works is just as important as knowing how to answer a question and so as a result, I can guide students through topics step-by-step, using simple explanations and plenty of practice to prepare for exam scenarios.
