About Pelumi
I’m a hardworking and motivated A-Level student predicted A*A*AA, with a strong passion for both Sociology and English Literature. Having recently gone through the A-Level journey myself, I understand the pressure and challenges students face, especially when trying to master essay writing and exam technique under time constraints. I want to teach because I know how valuable it is to have someone explain difficult topics in a clear, relatable way — not just memorising content, but truly understanding it. I believe that with the right support and strategies, every student can build confidence and reach their potential. My goal is to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and steadily improving. As a tutor, I bring both recent experience of sitting A-Level exams and a real understanding of how to approach revision effectively. I am committed to helping my students achieve their academic goals and feel proud of their progress.

I’m a 17-year-old A*A*AA-predicted A-Level student with law offers from LSE and UCL offering personalised tutoring in A-Level Sociology (AQA) and English Literature (Edexcel). I specialise in the following English Literature texts: Frankenstein and The Handmaid’s Tale (comparative essay), Othello, A Streetcar Named Desire, Christina Rossetti Poems, and the Poems of the Decade anthology. In Sociology, I cover Education, Crime and Deviance, Media, Families and Households, and Theory and Methods. Being close in age to my students means I understand the challenges you’re facing and can offer relatable advice and strategies. My Approach: I focus on building strong essay-writing skills, exam technique, and a clear understanding of content. I adapt lessons to each student’s needs, using interactive discussions, model essays, structured notes, and practice questions to improve both knowledge and exam performance. I also break down complex theories into manageable, easy-to-remember points, helping you feel confident ahead of your exams. Lessons: - Online lessons via Zoom or Teams - Typically 60 minutes long - Includes structured revision sessions, tailored homework tasks, and detailed feedback - Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends Qualifications/Experience: - Predicted A*A*AA at A-Level - Familiar with the latest AQA and Edexcel exam formats and mark schemes - Experience mentoring and supporting peers with essay writing and exam preparation Who my lessons are for: - A-Level students (Year 12 and 13) studying AQA Sociology or Edexcel English Literature - Students aiming to boost grades, sharpen essay technique, or build exam confidence Rates: £26 per hour (First meeting to discuss goals and learning style.) My hourly rate reflects not just the lesson time, but also the preparation I put into each session. I create tailored resources, revision notes, and practice questions to make sure every lesson is as effective as possible. I also provide feedback outside of lesson hours when needed. In addition, I am currently saving for university, where I plan to continue my education and build my future career.
