About Shaz
Hi, I'm Shaz, a Chemical Engineering student at the University of Birmingham and a Chemistry tutor with over two years of teaching experience. My interest in Chemistry began during my own studies, where it quickly became my strongest and most enjoyable subject. Since then, I have enjoyed helping students overcome challenges, build confidence, and improve their academic performance.
Having recently completed my own IGCSE and A-Level journey, I understand the difficulties students face and the importance of clear explanations and consistent support. I aim to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing a genuine understanding of the subject. Seeing students grow in confidence and achieve their goals is what I find most rewarding about tutoring.

My primary area of expertise is Chemistry, and I teach students across a range of curricula, including Cambridge, Edexcel, Oxford AQA, and equivalent examination boards. My lessons are suitable for IGCSE/GCSE students looking to strengthen their understanding of Chemistry, improve problem-solving skills, and prepare effectively for examinations.
Lessons are typically 60–90 minutes long and are tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style. I focus on building a strong conceptual foundation before reinforcing learning through worked examples, exam-style questions, and past paper practice. Several of my students have gone on to achieve A* and A grades in their examinations, and I am committed to helping every student reach their full academic potential.
