About Daniel
I am a Year 12 student currently taking French as one of my A-Levels and working at an A*. I am aspiring to study Modern Languages and Linguistics at Cambridge University. As someone fiercely passionate about the importance and fun of language learning, I help my students to understand that languages are not so difficult as initially thought and that, with the right teaching, they can actually be immensely rewarding.
Having only English as a first language and being at no significant advantage to others, I was able to crack the French GCSE and find out exactly what it is that the examiners want to see. I scored 93% (a grade 9) in my French GCSE and have continued this success on to A-Level, now predicted to achieve an A*. It's my mission to shatter the belief that language learning isn't something you're "just good at", but rather a skill that can be easily cultivated with a personalised approach.

I take a thorough approach to my tutoring, first getting students to complete a past paper in order to find their weaknesses. From there, I ensure that they understand all things grammar: tenses, conjugation, articles, pronouns - you name it! With these foundations in place, students will be looking at a 6 or 7. To secure the very top 8s and 9s, I go through my secret vocab learning technique and teach students a range of useful idioms that they can apply in all sections of the course. These really set my pupils apart from the average GCSE French script.
This year, I have volunteered to help current Year 11 students in my school and their teachers have noticed a marked increase in their attainment as a result of my personalised tutoring style.
