About Kym
Hi! I am an A level student currently studying both English literature and language at college. I have always loved English and creative writing and enjoy helping others who may struggle with all elements of the subject. At GCSE I was awarded a grade 9 for both English language and literature, which is an A** in old money. Although this is my first time officially tutoring, I have helped younger students informally in the past and they have managed to get a much better grasp of some tricky concepts after talking to them. I want to offer friendly, low-stress tutoring for students who either find English as a whole difficult, or those who may be fairly confident but simply struggle with the finer details such as exam technique.

My teaching methods are informal to create a calm environment rather than the high stress levels forced onto students at school. As I am a student myself, I will be honest by saying I'm not that experienced but I do understand that some people simply hate English. This is completely normal and there should be no shame or stigma attached to it. Personally, I am awful at maths, I hated every second of it at school and I doubt I could tell you any higher than my 5x tables. What I am trying to say is that the school system isn't fair on everyone and no student should have to feel embarrassed about needing help with English. I find it really hard too! I may not be able to offer superb qualifications or 15 years of experience but I hope that being a young student just like yourself , simply trying to help you out in these stressful years will be enough to make you want me as a tutor. :)
