About Tim
I'm Tim. I've been a teacher since 1994. Oh my word! I'm excited by every aspect of Biology (and Geology, and Physics, and Chemistry and goodness knows what else). I'm an examiner for 2 exam boards. I know the specifications and the mark schemes inside out. I've helped people turn C to A* and E to B. I work with who you are. One size does not fit all. My lessons are purposeful, require you to think, super supportive and I'd like to think just the right side of challenging.

We start from where you are.
In the 1st meeting we will look at where you are and plan a crystal clear route to where you want to be.
We will look at all aspects of your learning to clearly identify the causes of the difference between the grades you want and the grades you're getting at the moment.
We'll look at your module test scores, formal assessments, past paper practice, study habits, study resources and study organisation.
Week by week we will work systematically to fix your problems with understanding, improve your exam technique, supercharge your learning habits and get you on a clear path to success.
I've helped thousands of students make sense of A levels. In my lessons you'll be doing at least half of the talking. We get organised, we plan ahead and we utilise the superpower of you voicing and writing your understanding so we identify problems, fix them and don't just repeat stuff you don't need any help with.
The evidence is now overwhelming that what works is testing. Not reading, not listening, not watching videos.
Testing comes in many forms. Blurting, you explaining to me, past paper practice, marking someone else's marking, making reviewing and modifying flashcards. We use lots of techniques. We always work to find problems and fix them. We don't just repeat things you already know.
