About Gonçalo
Since the harmonic is still a relatively unexplored instrument, there are still no official musical graduations herein. I currently find myself finishing a degree in Music - Jazz variant in the School of Music in Lisbon, as harmonicist but had to compete for a trumpeter place. Very few harmonicists have studied the instrument in such a profound way, and those who I admire most in the world, such as Antonio Serrano, Gregoire Maret or José Staneck, I was privileged to take classes and participate in workshops with them. I have prepared two students for admission tests in university, but the vast majority are beginners.

Regarding the harmonica, I will consider: a) technical issues such as the handling of the instrument, the method of draw and blow; b) musical issues, how the notes are organize on this instrument, the various scales and arpeggios in all tones, phrasing; Regarding the improvisation, I will consider: a) ear training (melodic, rhythmic and harmonic); b) knowledge of harmony (chords and chord progression); c) how to improvise, or build melodies in real time (solos) in various musical genres, using examples of great musicians, whether harmonicistas, saxophonists or other instrument.
