About Xanthy
I am a student, tutor, and mentor giving lessons in Academic English and Spanish. I have been academically tutoring students for 2 years in numerous subjects. I have taught roughly 100 students throughout the 2 years I have been tutoring; however, I have taught in groups of 5-10 normally. My students have shown growth and comprehension throughout our lessons and have improved their grades. I am fluent in Spanish, as I am a native speaker; in addition, I have earned awards for my academic English proficiency.

I am currently a student at UC Berkeley double majoring in legal studies and sociology. I tutor low-income high school students at the local high school on my free time. For every new lesson and topic, I like to get an idea of what the student already knows, what they have the most difficulty with, and what they would like the most help with. I like directing the lesson towards the need of the student in order for them to fully understand the material. I like to make the lessons personal so it grasps the attention of the student, making it easier to learn.
