About Patrick
Ever wonder why one can't speak a second language despite having spent some 12 school years learning it. Well, if you find it fun and are able to apply it to your daily life, seeing yourself improving on daily basis, and as you become more and more confident, you will want go on forever and even start to pick up a couple more foreign languages that you thought was never possible.
As a bilingual in English and Mandarin, and speaking five languages and being to write them all comes with some effort, not so much on the time I will have to spend learning the learning, rather it's the approach that I will have to stick to, to not just recognize the words but also the pronunciation of the language.
Here's how I learn Thai as my fourth language. Thai has weird characters as far as many is concerned. My target was to pick up not just spoken Thai, I wanted to be able to read that I knew would help me improve tremendously in a very short time. I did all that in a year, on my own. Second year into learning Thai I picked up Spanish, same thing, in less than a year, I am now able to speak and understand both Thai and Spanish clip without much difficulty. And I just started learning French and Japanese about 3 months back.
I just hope that whoever think they are hopeless with either Mandarin or English get this opportunity to use my learning approach and in the end get some sense of fulfillment from their learning experience.
You will realise after adopting my approach, and a couple of months into it, you will be able to have a good grasp of the language and start to write and speak English or Mandarin pretty confidently, just like a native speaker.
Good news is that in less than a year you will have completed your intermediate level, if not higher and be left on your own. You can always come back to me should you have any specific need with regard to the languages I'm tutoring.
