Hi! I’m Melanie, a passionate Spanish tutor born in Canada and raised in Spain. Growing up immersed in both languages and cultures, I developed a deep appreciation for how language connects people and opens doors to new experiences. As a Spanish tutor raised in Spain, my approach is all about making learning natural and engaging. I believe that the best way to learn a language is by using it as much as possible, so I focus on conversation and practical usage.
From the very first lesson, I encourage students to speak, even if it’s just simple sentences, so they start feeling comfortable with the language. Instead of overwhelming them with complex grammar rules, I break things down into simple explanations with clear examples, always making sure they understand how to use Spanish in real life.
I like to use real-world materials, like songs, articles, or short videos, to make learning more immersive. We will move on to practice, where students get to apply what they’ve learned through speaking, writing, or listening exercises.
What makes me different as a tutor is that I bring my own cultural background into the lessons. Since I grew up in Spain, I can share not just the language, but also the way people actually speak in daily life, including slang, expressions, and cultural nuances that you don’t always find in textbooks. My goal is to make learning fun, engaging, and stress-free, adapting my teaching to each student’s needs.
