About Zara

Salut! I'm Zara, and I'd love to help you fall in love with speaking French!

I'm 22 years old, born and raised in England, and a native English speaker who is also fluent in French.

My mum is French, so I grew up hearing French spoken around the house. Although English was my first language, French has always been part of my life.

At 18, I decided to move to France, and four years later, I'm still here!

I've spent most of that time living in Saint-Étienne, and I also spent some time in the beautiful French countryside in Boën-sur-Lignon. Living in different environments has given me firsthand experience of everyday French, local expressions, French culture and how people really communicate.

French isn't just a language I've learned — it's a language I use and experience every day.

So why learn with me?

Because I understand both sides of the experience.

As someone who grew up speaking English, I can explain French clearly in a language you're completely comfortable with. And as someone who has lived in France for four years, I can introduce you to the natural, everyday French you won't always find in a textbook.

I'm naturally friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic, and I believe learning a language should be exciting rather than intimidating.

I also absolutely love music! I'd be delighted to introduce you to French artists and different genres, using music as a fun way to improve your listening skills, discover new vocabulary and experience French culture.

My aim isn't simply to teach you French words. It's to help you feel confident enough to use them in real conversations, connect with French speakers and enjoy the language.

I can't wait to meet you and help you on your French-learning journey! À bientôt!

About the lesson

Forget boring textbook French — let's learn the French people ACTUALLY speak!

Have you ever studied French but struggled to hold a real conversation? Or wanted to speak French without constantly translating everything in your head?

That's exactly what I'd love to help you with!

My lessons focus on bringing French to life through real conversations, everyday expressions, pronunciation, vocabulary and French culture.

Rather than simply memorising endless lists of words, we'll explore French in ways that make it easier to understand, remember and actually use.

What can you expect from my lessons?

Real-life French: Learn how people actually speak in France, including everyday phrases, expressions and natural conversation.

️ Confidence through conversation: Practise speaking French in a relaxed, encouraging environment where making mistakes is part of learning.

Learn through French music: Discover French artists, songs and different musical genres while developing your vocabulary, pronunciation and listening skills.

French culture beyond the classroom: Learn about French traditions, social life, humour and cultural differences from someone who experiences them firsthand.

Lessons you'll actually look forward to: I'm friendly, enthusiastic and love making learning enjoyable. My goal is for you to leave each lesson having learned something useful that you'll genuinely remember.

Whether you're a complete beginner, have some French knowledge or simply want to improve your conversational skills, I'll adapt our lessons to your confidence, interests and goals.

My speciality is conversational French, helping you go from knowing French words to actually feeling comfortable using them.

No pressure, no judgement — just enjoyable, practical French lessons designed around YOU!
