About Owen
I am a piano tutor with more than 3 years of teaching experience in both in-person and online formats. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with a Pedagogy concentration. My teaching focuses on sight-reading fluency, score analysis, and interpreting complex classical repertoire. Lessons are tailored to individual students, incorporating music history, theory, finger exercises, and period performance practices. I have taught students from Beginner to Advanced levels, including Professional and Expert classical pianists. My approach emphasizes technical mastery, expressive interpretation, and stylistic understanding. Students develop analytical skills, musical insight, and performance confidence. Lessons balance structured technical exercises with creative exploration for artistic growth. I encourage independent thinking, musicality, and expressive freedom. Students leave with skills to approach repertoire thoughtfully and confidently. Instruction is adaptive, engaging, and motivating.
